Mountain Treks in the Sierras of Southern Spain

Multi day treks take clients into the 3,000m+ peaks of the Sierra Nevada and offer you some of the best trekking in Spain. The non technical routes up Mulhacen, Valetta and Alcazaba are are great introduction to high level walking without the need for Alpine style starts and carrying lots of gear.
During the treks we use the Refugio Poqueira a mountain hut at 2,500m on the southern slopes of Mulhacen. The refuge allows walkers to get acclimatised before trips in the higher mountains. Starting high and walking between the main peaks give a fantastic opportunity to experience full days amongst some of the most dramatic scenery of the Sierra Nevada and do some of the more remote walking routes particularly those on the northern slopes of the range which are difficult to access on day trips.
The refuge offers basic full board accommodation and provides a fantastic base for exploration of the higher peaks. Clients will need a good level of fitness and some mountain experience for these trips. For an up to date view of the conditions near the refuge there are web cam images available at Refuge web cam
